TikTok promotes violence against animals with video of a woman stomping on a live snake

A video of a woman stomping on a live baby snake has gone viral on TikTok with 24.6 million views, 1.2 million likes and 48,000 shares despite the video violating the platform’s community guidelines.

On July 28, a TikTok user with the handle “lifeazzizz” uploaded a video of her grandmother standing in a garage while a baby snake approaches the garage.

The baby snake appears to be a harmless, non venomous grass snake; a species that poses no threat to humans.

As the snake gets close to the woman she makes three attempts to stomp on the animal before finally succeeding and stomping on its head and neck area.

The snake then begins twisting around and writhing in pain, likely from severe internal injuries.

The TikTok user posted a caption stating that the snake lived, but based on the severity of its injuries it is likely that the grass snake died a very painful death shortly after the video was taken.

TikTok community guidelines state the platform prohibits content that depicts the slaughter of real animals; dismembered, mutilated, charred, or burned animal remains; and depictions of animal abuse.

Numerous individuals have reported the video as a violation of TikTok’s community guidelines but TikTok has not removed the video from the platform.
