Sitaara update-tiger cub kept in small chain link dog kennel at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary

**UPDATE** on Sitaara the tiger cub. In Dec. 2020 Sitaara was confiscated from a private owner by Grand Prairie Animal Services and rehomed to the pseudo-sanctuary Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary - Tyler, TX, where she was immediately used for photo ops and cub petting interactions with the sanctuary employees, their friends and family.

In a March 8, 2021 video posted publicly (since made private) you can see that Sitaara is currently living in a small chain link dog kennel. Even more alarming than her enclosure is the small child being allowed to pet Sitaara through the fence. Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary has already had a volunteer lose an arm due to a tiger attack; did they really not learn anything from that horrific incident?

Not only is allowing children to pet tigers dangerous, but allowing this child past the perimeter fence to pet this animal through the cage is also a USDA Animal Welfare Act violation. Could we get your help reporting the animal neglect and mistreatment occurring at Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary? It’s the only way we can get it to stop. All you have to do is click this link: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalwelfare/complaint-form and paste in the following information:

Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, Tyler, TX, USDA number: 74-C-0418

Dear USDA Inspector: I am urging you to immediately inspect Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary in Tyler, Texas. Recent photos and videos taken at the facility show a child being allowed past the perimeter fence to pet the tigers through the fence. The animals are being passed around and removed from the property, exposing them to diseases. Numerous animals have been denied critically needed veterinary care and a dozen big cats have died in the past year. Please inspect this facility immediately and reprimand the owners and managers for their blatant disregard for the care and safety of the animals and the visitors.

Thank you for being a voice for the animals.
