Six fires at roadside zoos and sanctuaries have killed 226 exotic animals in the first five months of 2021. None of the facilities had fire prevention methods in place and the animals were burned alive.

Here is Roadside Zoo News running list of 2021 zoo fires:

February 8, 2021-Pymatuning Deer Park-Jamestown, PA 2 animals killed
February 21, 2021-Enchanted Forest Exotic Animal Sanctuary-Newcastle, CA 40 animals killed
March 8, 2021-Roer’s Zoofari-Vienna, VA 2 animals killed
March 19, 2021-Critter Lane Petting Zoo-Valley Mines, MO 11 animals killed
April 8, 2021-Foster Parrots Sanctuary-Hopkinton, RI 96 animals killed
May 2, 2021-Noccalula Falls Park Petting Zoo-Gadsden, AL 75 animals killed

Whether through arson, accident or negligence, fires at roadside zoos and sanctuaries are far too common of an occurrence. How many more animals will be burned alive before these facilities begin putting fire prevention methods into place?

Thank you for being a voice for the animals.
